With remarkable intuition and determination, he became the first in the Moris family to embrace direct sales, recognizing both the value of personal relationships and the opportunity for growth.

Driven by this vision, Francesco opened the family’s first point of sale within their private cantina, nestled in the historic heart of Massa Marittima. In 1976, he completed the careful restoration of the Vecchia Cantina Moris, transforming it into a welcoming space where townspeople could come to fill their demijohns with quality wine—right in the center of daily life.

This simple yet meaningful service, paired with a steadfast commitment to quality, fostered deep pride and loyalty within the local community. It was here that the foundations of the Moris family’s future were laid—not just as winemakers, but as custodians of a shared tradition.

Today, the Vecchia Cantina Moris remains the beating heart of the family’s story. Still serving both bottled and bulk wine, it continues to support the local community while enchanting visitors from around the world with its medieval arches and atmospheric grottos—a place where history, wine, and people come together.
